LEGAZPI CITY — A lawmaker of Albay province has called on the Senate to approve the proposed Universal Social Pension for Senior Citizens Act (House Bill 10423) and pledged to source out funds for it.

The bill seeks to grant indigent senior citizens a monthly pension of P1,000 and non-indigents P500. Within five years, all elderly Filipinos would receive P1,000 a month.
