A TOTAL of 232 former rebels, now referred to as "Friends Rescued" or FRs, formally surrendered their firearms and returned to the folds of the law, Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez confirmed on Monday.

The turnover and reintegration ceremonies, held on Feb. 6 and facilitated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines' (AFP) 10th Infantry "Agila" Division, marked a major step in the FRs' transition to peaceful and productive lives.
