Bong Go provided aid to families who were displaced by a recent fire in Muntinlupa City.In a statement, the senator said he wanted to ensure the fire victims 'receive much-needed support as they recover and rebuild.'On Saturday, Go led the relief efforts as he reaffirmed his 'commitment to fire and disaster-stricken Filipinos.''No family should be left behind in times of crisis,' he said. 'Let us help one another so that your families would gradually recover [from the tragedy],' he said.Go distributed food packs, snacks, vitamins, shirts, basketballs, and volleyballs to the beneficiaries at the Morning Breeze Homes in Barangay Alabang.Select beneficiaries also received a bicycle, cellphone, shoes, and a watch. Housing assistance was extended to affected families.Go, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography and a health reforms crusader, also urged them to go to the Malasakit Center at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine and Ospital ng Muntinlupa for their medical needs.Established in 2018, the Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop designed to streamline medical assistance programs from various government agencies, ensuring that Filipinos can access medical assistance to overcome the financial burden of health care costs.
