MANILA, Philippines — The impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte may begin in the 20th Congress or after President Ferdinand Marcos' fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) in July 2025.
"The actual trial will begin in the 20th Congress," Senate President Francis Escudero said in a press briefing on Monday. "Most likely when the new Congress already enters into its function, that means after SONA," the senator added.
