The MRT-3 serving its maximum capacity of 800,000 passengers per day will still be far from adequate to meet long-term demand for mass transit on EDSA, which is an important economic and social corridor that links numerous business districts, dense residential areas and transportation hubs. Areas and districts along EDSA continue to expand, attracting more residents, activities and enterprises.
