THE value of confiscated counterfeit products in 2024 totaled P40.99 billion, up by 52 percent from P26.99 billion in 2023, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (Ipophl) reported on Thursday.

Ipophl Director General Brigitte da Costa-Villaluz said the fake products cause undue harm to legitimate businesses and expose consumers to unsafe merchandise that go under the radar of regulatory standard checks.
