MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra played with better composure down the stretch to outlast Meralco, 100-92 and draw first blood in their PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup best-of-three quarterfinal series Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Scottie Thompson, rookie guard RJ Abarrientos and Japeth Aguilar combined for 20 of Ginebra's 22 points in the fourth quarter to frustrate the Bolts, grabbing a 1-0 series lead in the process.
