THE Supreme Court has provided further clarification on the deadlines for filing a claim for Value-Added Tax (VAT) refund with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

The ruling, penned by Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, establishes clearer guidelines on when the 120-day period for the BIR to process the claim begins, particularly for claims filed before June 11, 2014.
