TWELVE years ago, the Philippines adopted the K-12 to pursue reform thrusts of the Basic Education Reform Agenda. A source from the database (deped-k12-basic-education.pdf (word press. com) informs that the package of policy reforms "sought to systematically improve critical regulatory, institutional, structural, financial, cultural, physical and informational conditions affecting basic education provision, access and delivery on the ground." The same source continues that the Department of Education (DepEd) sought "to create a basic education sector that is capable of attaining the country's Education for All Objectives and the Millennium Development Goals by the year 2015."
