Batangas typhoon victims receive SoKor rice

LAUREL, Batangas — Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. led the distribution of 100,000 bags of rice donated by the South Korean government for victims of Tropical Storm Kristine across Luzon.

The donation totals to 4,000 metric tons (MT) of rice and was part of the Tier 3 program of the Asean Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (Apterr), where it releases its stockpiled emergency rice reserves in response to severe emergencies and/or humanitarian responses.
