THE average electricity price in the country in January 2025 was P2.96 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), lower than the P3.45 per kWh in December 2024, according to the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP).

The price drop was due to lower average electricity demand during the given period, said an officer of the wholesale electricity trading platform.
