ESTERO and river rangers cleared a total of 34.5 million kilograms (kg) of waste from waterways in the National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), and Central Luzon in 2024, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The DENR said 29.6 million kg of waste came from NCR, 3.3 million from Calabarzon, and 1.58 million kg from Central Luzon.
