DOMESTIC automobile sales could hit a new high of 512,000 units this year as the need for mobility rises due to a "growing and vibrant economy," Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) Chairman Alfred Ty said late Friday.

Automakers sold a record 467,252 units last year, up by 8.7 percent from the previous peak of 429,807 in 2023, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. and the Truck Manufacturers Association reported last month.
