IN weeks filled with bad news (rising poverty rates, Chinese spies coming from the cold, the works), there are a few pieces of good news one can glean from the newspapers. Yes, I still prefer reading printed newspapers over the ones online, with words blazing on the screen and giving me migraine.

One is the clemency given by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to former Iloilo City Mayor Jet Patrick Mabilog seven years after he was dismissed from service on allegations of ill-gotten wealth.
