MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) urged the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) to include Mimaropa's island provinces—Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan—in the Luzon Economic Growth Area.
At the heart of this initiative are the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa and the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm in Occidental Mindoro, which are being integrated into broader regional development plans.
