Nicolas gets 2 awards in Czech Republic chess event

NIKA Juris Nicolas, the country's first and only female National Master, finished in a six-way tie for fifth place at the Marienbad Open 2025 - FIDE Open 23rd International Chess Festival in Marianske Lazne, Czech Republic on Jan. 25, 2025.

The 12-year-old Nicolas, who has an Elo rating of 1657, competed in the open category for men and women and clashed with older players with better ratings than her.
