MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine government issued on Saturday a high alert for residents in Palawan and Basilan, urging them to stay vigilant ahead of China's Long March 8A rocket launch, which may affect the two provinces.

The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) confirmed that the rocket launch will occur this Saturday from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan, China, with a launch window between 5:53 p.m. and 6:42 p.m.
