MANILA, Philippines — The Chinese Embassy requested the Philippine government for a visit to its citizen who was arrested recently for being an alleged spy so that it could provide assistance.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the embassy said the so-called "espionage" operation of a Chinese citizen in the Philippines was "baseless speculation and accusation."
