Akari overcomes first set blip to beat Nxled

MANILA, Philippines — Akari bounced back from a two-game losing skid with a 21-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-18 win over Nxled in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Thursday.
Akari now tallied 4-4 in the win-loss ledger while its sister team Nxled remained winless in seven games.

'It's just a lot of character, we're building the team. We need to unite as a team. Sometimes we cannot control the game, and we need to work on our emotions,' head coach Taka Minowa said as the team recovered from a slow start.
Ivy Lacsina propelled Akari with her 17-point outing on 14 attacks, a block, and two aces.
Alas Pilipinas hitter Faith Nisperos and Eli Soyud each added 14 points, while Camille Victoria chipped in 10 points.
The Chargers kept their composure despite setter Michelle Cobb being carried out on a stretcher after hurting her neck when she tried to dive for the ball early in the second frame.
Second-stringer playmaker Kamille Cal stepped up and took care of the remaining sets, tallying 12 excellent sets to lift Akari to victory.
On Nxled's side, Chiara Permentilla made 20 points, while Lucille Almonte, and Lycha Ebon churned out 13, and 11 points, respectively.
