THE peso started the week higher against the greenback, but the stock market was basically unchanged as investors awaited policies to be announced by US President-elect Donald Trump, who was to be sworn into office on Monday.
The currency strengthened by 12 centavos to P58.52:$1 while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) shed 2.23 points or 0.04 percent, and ended the day at 6,349.89.
