COLLEGE of Saint Benilde (CSB) will gain the help of promising middle blocker and former National Uni-versity (NU) bulldog John Vic Estrada in NCAA Season 101 men's volleyball tournament. The 6-foot-3 Estrada will sit out for one-year residency. He trained with the UAAP champion NU for three years and looks to bolster the Benilde Blazers' bid for a title.'The sacrifice I made to move out from Quezon and here to Manila was all because of my dream to play in a collegiate league with a higher level of training program. Now that Benilde gave me their trust in the NCAA, I will continue to work hard and carry everything that I learned.'Benilde failed to reach the Final Four after placing fifth in NCAA Season 99 and tallied a 9-4 win-loss card.Estrada said that one of his motivations to suit up for Benilde was because of Benilde's icon John Vic De Guzman and plans to carve out the legacy of having the 'JV' initially.De Guzman propelled Benilde to its only title in Season 92 after defeating the perennial champions University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, where he also took the Most Valuable Player plum.'Aside from us having the same name of the kid, I can see the potential and the hard work of the kid. We are both faraway from our families when we were both starting, and I told him that he needs to work really hard,' De Guzman said.
