NIKA Juris Nicolas, the country's first and only female National Master (NM), posted a runner-up finish at Prague Open 2025 (under 2000 rating) 23rd International Chess Festival in Czech Republic.
Competing in the open division for boys and girls, Nicolas registered six wins, two draws and one loss in the weeklong tournament that ended on Friday.
Nicolas actually finished tied with four other players but claimed the number two spot by virtue of having a superior tie-break quotient.
