PH team shines with gold at global science olympiad

THE Philippines once again demonstrated its academic excellence on the global stage as the national team achieved a remarkable 100 percent medal haul at the 6th Copernicus International Science Olympiad held in Houston, Texas, from Jan. 5-10, 2025. Competing against some of the brightest young minds worldwide, the Philippine delegation proudly brought home two golds, one silver, and three bronze medals, highlighting the nation's exceptional talent and dedication to science and education.

The gold medalists were Rjian Felminia Acevedo, Grade 10, and John Hermes Mariñas, Grade 5, who both excelled in their respective fields. Iwen Sabio Manaba, Grade 11, secured a silver medal, while Jaymee Kristen Concha, Grade 9, and Richmarth Duke Bad-Ang and Marquis Xavier Zamuco, both in Grade 12, earned bronze medals, completing the team's extraordinary performance.
