Benjo Santos Benavidez (bottom photo, second from left) personally visited Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Meynardo Sabili (top photo) to discuss livelihood programs aimed at supporting urban poor communities nationwide. During the meeting, both agencies addressed the livelihood needs of the urban poor, focusing on providing opportunities for self-sufficiency and financial independence for families within the sector. They also emphasized the proper implementation of livelihood programs and the importance of effective coordination between DoLE and PCUP. The meeting aimed to expand the implementation of livelihood assistance programs not only in NCR but also across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Chairman Sabili, together with the Field Operations Division of the PCUP, will lead the profiling of qualified beneficiaries to identify their needs and ensure that the assistance provided is suitable for their circumstances and communities. Previously implemented livelihood projects such as Bigasan, NegoKart (5-in-1 package), and Carinderia in various parts of Metro Manila have successfully provided opportunities for families in need.
