STRONG Group Athletics (SGA) may have found its missing piece to win a championship in Dubai.SGA sealed its roster for the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championships with the addition of former Ateneo de Manila University guard Chris Koon. The 6-foot-5 Koon averaged 7.58 points, 4.17 rebounds, and 1.83 assists per game in his last stint with Ateneo in Season 87 of the UAAP.'He has good size as a wing, can shoot, can defend. I think he will be a good role player for us. And we all know he's been well coached and comes from a great school and program, so it's good to have him,' SGA head coach Charles Tiu said. With SGA, Koon will be playing alongside four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins and American imports Malachi Richardson and Terry Larrier. For the Dubai tournament, SGA also signed local stars like Mikey Williams, Rhenz Abando, Dave Ildefonso and Jason Brickman as well as naturalized Filipino players Angelo Kouame and Andray Blatche.SGA looks to bolster its bid this year after settling for a runner-up finish in the 33rd Dubai International Games.Despite having former NBA star Dwight Howard in its roster last year, SGA bowed to Al-Riyadi in the finals.
