I ATTENDED the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC)-organized National Rally for Peace held on Jan.13, 2025 at the Quirino Grandstand (and spilled over to Rizal Park and beyond). In last week's column, I said I was clueless about the group's real intentions for staging the said event. In this column, I have arrived at an answer to that question while watching INC TV during the morning of the rally and while listening to the speeches during the event itself.

INC TV reported that for the 2023 scorecard, the Philippines placed 87th out of 170 countries, earning a total of 66.16 out of a possible 100, in the Global Social Progress Index. This was the country's worst performance since it was added by the nonprofit organization Social Progress Imperative to the list of countries evaluated using the index in 2011.
