STORY time! Two years ago, when I was still working in corporate, I created a marketing pitch which I presented separately to my boss and our Chief Marketing Officer, both of whom were C-levels. I thought the pitch was very promising, and I was very proud of it.And so did they, but enough to push it out of the pipe. Long story short, they shelved it. And that was that. Two years later, I saw the exact same pitch executed perfectly by a different company. The song was 'Huwag Kang Matakot' by Ely Buendia, which I thought was the perfect anthem for companies that catered to consumers or what we call B2Cs (business to consumer) like FMCGs or consumer financing companies, which my company was classified under. But as they say, that's the way the cookie crumbles. It's an idiom that means we must accept things the way they are no matter how unfavorable they seem to be. Anyway, he who laughs last, laughs the best, right? And in the words of the iconic Ethel Booba, I say: 'I told them! But they did not listen to my told!'
