Israelis expressed mixed feelings about a deal agreed between Israel and Hamas on the release of hostages from Gaza captivity on Wednesday, January 15.
Families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza gathered in the Tel Aviv square where they have held rallies for more than a year. They called out the names of hostages and demanded the release of all 98 who've been held, alive and dead, in Hamas captivity since their kidnapping on October 7, 2023.
Under the agreement, the first of an initial group of 33 hostages is expected to be returned to Israel on Sunday, January 19, before negotiations on the release of the remaining 65 begin around two weeks later.
