MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines acquired 10 more Black Hawk helicopters from a global defense technology firm in a bid to boost its search and rescue and humanitarian aid capabilities and security advantage in the Indo-Pacific region.
These deliveries by Lockheed Martin to the Department of National Defense in 2024 mark a significant milestone in a contract signed in 2022, which provides for the acquisition of 32 Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopters under the DND's Additional Utility Helicopters Acquisition Project.
