MANILA, Philippines — Despite an overall decrease in cybercrime rates from 2023 to 2024, certain cases remain persistently high, with significant increases reported in online libel and photo/video voyeurism.

Data from the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) revealed a troubling trend in these specific violations under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Section 4(c)(4) of RA 10175) and the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 (RA 9995, in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175).
