BACOLOD CITY — Local government units in Negros Occidental are standing firm in their decision allowing the evacuees to return home near the 6-kilometer extended danger zone of Kanlaon volcano, even as the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) asked the concerned LGUs to reconsider their decision.
Earlier, OCD Administrator Ariel Nepomuceno urgently urged mayors of La Castellana and Bago City in Negros Occidental to reassess their decision of allowing evacuees to go home in light of the heightened volcanic activity at Kanlaon.
