ILOILO CITY — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) inaugurated a cutting-edge laboratory at the University of San Agustin (USA) in this city that seeks to transform local commodities like sugarcane, pulses and cacao into health-boosting products.

The DOST-funded Niche Centers in the Region (Nicer) in Functional Food was launched on Friday, Jan. 10.
