CEBU CITY — Following the criticism of Cebu's internet speed by a popular American content creator, the Cebu City Council has called on telecommunication companies to upgrade their networks for the 2025 Sinulog Festival.

Councilor Jaypee Labella, chairman of the Committee on Information and Communications Technology, raised the issue during the council's session on Wednesday, Jan. 8. He urged providers to ensure reliable internet services for the expected influx of attendees during the highly anticipated festival.
