PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday expressed his sympathies to the victims of the raging wildfires in California.In a post on his official social media accounts, the President said California is a state where many Filipinos reside.'On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend my deepest sympathies to all who have been affected by the devastating wildfires in Southern California, USA — a place that many of our kababayans call home,' he said.'May the community's road to recovery begin with strength, compassion and solidarity. Please stay safe and vigilant,' he said.The swarm of wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area has left thousands homeless and at least 16 dead since Jan. 7.Two of the biggest wildfires ravaged the Los Angeles area last Thursday, burning down at least 10,000 homes, buildings, and other structures, local officials reported. Reports said at least 16 people died.
