CALAPAN CITY — The prices of commodities rose while the purchasing power of the people dived, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) here said on Saturday.

Charlyn Romero-Cantos, chief administrative officer of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Statistical Office, said during a presentation that the inflation rate in the province rose to 4.9 percent in December last year from 3.9 percent in October and 3.4 percent in the same month in 2023.
