THE Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (Ipophl) will keep track of developments in copyright violations, assuring enhanced enforcement against counterfeiting and piracy, following a report tagging a Metro Manila shopping hub as one of the notorious markets for fake products.

"We will continue to study and monitor trends used in violating intellectual property rights, with the end in view of furthering economic development through innovation and creativity," Ipophl Officer in Charge Nathaniel Arevalo said on Friday — in response to the United States Trade Representative's (USTR) report listing the Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan on its 2024 Review of Notorious Markets for Counterfeiting and Piracy.
