IT is "still too soon to declare victory" over inflation given uncertainties that include protectionist trade policies pledged by US President Donald Trump and fewer Federal Reserve (Fed) rate cuts, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli Remolona Jr. said on Thursday.

"I would say that we've done the hard work. And as a result of that, we are what I would call firmer footing in the economy," the central bank said at a Rotary Club event.
