I CHANCED upon Kiko Pangilinan's interview when he guested on 'Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast' hosted by Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac, directors both, just last month. The podcast is hilarious, by the way, in case you've been living under a rock. The former senator hopes to land a seat in the Senate in the coming elections, which explains why he has been quite visible lately, successfully riding on trends on social media while he's at it. Kiko Pangilinan is, like yours truly, a Lasallian. He also went to La Salle Green Hills for grade school and high school before heading off to become a iskolar ng bayan at UP for his bachelor's degree in literature, which comes as no surprise considering his good command of both the English and Filipino languages. In the podcast, I caught him saying, 'I painted myself into a corner during the last elections,' to describe what the situation was like with all the conflict, especially concerning his wife (Need I say who?), who had a very intimate relationship with one candidate he was going head-to-head with.To paint oneself into a corner is an idiom that means to place oneself in a difficult situation as a consequence of his actions, and I thought he could not have painted the picture any better with this statement. Animo, Kiko!
