THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said it has taken steps to strengthen its cybersecurity amid the reported hacking by China on sensitive government data.

"So, on the side of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we are in very close coordination in terms of our ally partners," said AFP spokesman Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, noting the military's cyber and intelligence command were in full alert against hacking attempts that would threaten national security.
