THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) could slow the pace of easing this year given a hawkish outlook for US Federal Reserve rate cuts, an HSBC economist said on Wednesday.
"We updated our policy rate forecast and expect a more gradual easing cycle, wherein the BSP — mindful of Fed moves and FX (foreign exchange) volatility — will cut in alternate rate-setting meetings," HSBC Global Research economist Aris Dacanay told reporters in a briefing.
