MANILA, Philippines — National athletes were in mourning, following the death of obstacle course runner Mervin Guarte, a former SEA Games champion, who was killed at the age of 33.
"Today, I mourn the loss of a dear friend. Mangyan, Mervin Guarte, you were one of the best friends and kindest people I have met in my life," fellow SEA Games champion Kyle Antolin wrote on Tuesday.
