CEBU CITY — After weeks of delay, the Cebu City Olympics athletics events began on Friday at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC). Originally set for December 2024, the games, which will run until Sunday, have been postponed due to the renovations at the track oval.

However, unresolved issues with the oval's lane markings mean that any record-breaking performances by the young athletes may not gain of-ficial recognition.
