BACOLOD CITY — A village chief and seven councilors of Barangay Marcelo, in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, have been disqualified by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) 2nd Division for vote-buying during the Oct. 30, 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
A post by Comelec identified the disqualified barangay (village) officials as barangay captain Arnulfo Siblag Libodlibod and councilors Eddy Gustaman Monterde, Joel Cabiles Rosello, Hernane Montaño Cabugwas, Jeremias Caballero Diotay, Elmor Taghoy Marcelo, Richard Garcia Diotay and Prescila Marcelo Patajo.
