Marcos declares Jan. 9 holiday in Manila for Feast of the Black Nazarene

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared Jan. 9, 2025, a special non-working day in Manila in observance of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

The President, through Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, signed Proclamation 766 on Friday, declaring the holiday to allow devotees to participate in the annual Traslacion, ensure an orderly procession, and facilitate the traffic flow.
