WRITING movie reviews is an effective way of improving your writing and speaking skills. Speaking of movies, the Christmas season wouldn't be complete without the MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival), which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024. By the way, refrain from saying 'year' with anniversary, like '50th year anniversary,' unless you wanna be called redundant. Incidentally, we have made it our little tradition to watch as many movies as our discretion allows during the MMFF.This year, we started off with 'Green Bones' from GMA Films. This is a Zig Dulay film, which is mostly why it made our list. It's the second straight year that we're seeing his film in the festival, the first one being 'Firefly,' which starred our favorite, Alessandra De Rossi. Just like 'Firefly,' 'Green Bones' did not disappoint. The direction and cinematography had that Zig Dulay flair. The story was unique and had a universal theme which was about second chances. Dennis Trillo was not a revelation because he was brilliant as expected. One of the rare ones who felt so natural on screen. No acting, acting. To see him and Alessandra De Rossi in one frame was magical. If anything, I just felt the treatment was a bit like a soap opera. Like how some scenes felt a little orchestrated and the blockings calculated. By the time this comes out, you would have seen the many reviews and how people have been crying their eyes out after seeing the film. Believe it!
