The New Year has begun. It "stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written." – Melody Beattie
QUITE suddenly year 2024 is gone! We thank our dear Triune God for keeping us away from harm — having us survive the variants of the pandemic that set in, the furious hurricanes and raging fires that have wrecked a thousand homes. We pray for those who did not survive all the ferocity of nature and the evil drive of fellow human beings. We pray for the latter to repent so they may be saved from the fires of hell. The new year is "often associated with fresh starts, resolutions and festivities." So we can truly appreciate this special day, let us delve to "understand its history, its evolution and the cultural traditions and celebrations associated with it."
