In the revised RTL, or Republic Act 12078, the fund allocation for the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) was tripled from P10 billion to P30 billion, and extended by six years to 2031.
The money will be used for rice farming modernization and mechanization, including the utilization of technological advancements in production to boost efficiency and output. These will minimize losses and boost income of farmers, and rice to become more affordable to consumers.
