CARCAR CITY, Cebu — The reelection bid of dismissed Mandaue City mayor Jonas Cortes still hangs in the balance after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) denied his motion for reconsideration and confirmed its previous decision to cancel his certificate of candidacy (COC).
The Comelec en banc affirmed the Second Division's decision, which found Cortes guilty of "serious misrepresentation" in his COC for indicating "N/A" or not applicable when asked about pending cases.
