THE Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has denounced the brazen ambush of a leader of a party-list which champions the Filipino farmers in Congress, and has, at the same time, dispatched a quick response operation (QRO) to conduct its independent investigation on the case.

Ponciano Onia, president of the Abono Party-list and also an incumbent municipal councilor of Umingan town, Pangasinan, was ruthlessly attacked and peppered with bullets while he was driving home on Dec. 7, 2024.
