CEBU CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Central Visayas (DSWD-7) provided the families displaced by the restive Mt. Kanlaon with P5.1 million worth of cash relief assistance to help them have something for the Christmas holidays, a regional social welfare official said Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Shalaine Marie Lucero, regional director of DSWD-7, said that 1,729 internally displaced families (IDFs) by the Mt. Kanlaon eruption in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental province, were given relief aid under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS).
